Selected Lyrics from Still Haven’t Walked

from the song Just Friends …

The silence drives me crazy
Because all I hear are my own thoughts.
Like bullets, they shoot though my head.
A memory is a million shots
Each time I think of you.

You’re untouched when my heart extends.
The loneliness is painful when
The lack of kissing never ends.
It hurts when you say we’re just friends.

When it’s you and isn’t me,
I’m unable to achieve my goal,
Because when you say it isn’t me,
You’ve stolen all of my control.
That’s how I’m hurt by you.

from the song Creative Drought …

The choice that I’ve at hand,
I’d trek across the land,
Or dig into the sand,
Or let the sunlight brand
My skin, already tanned
With fire, fiercely fanned.
A reckless reprimand.
Do I crawl or do I stand
A chance in all that’s planned?

How long until the rains
Will bring the untapped pains
That yield lines as soaked as oceans,
Flooding yet-untapped emotions?

Once again, to swim away,
I must be gone, and gone to stay.
To thirst in a creative drought,
Uniqueness I need do without.

from the song Sweet Dara …

She’s so seductive, so pristine,
So beautiful each time she’s seen,
So tantalizing, yet so fair,
And she’s so only seventeen.

Daring does she seem to me,
Sweet Dara, ’cause she’ll never be
The precious thing I’ll have and hold,
And honor for eternity.
Embracing love internally.

from the song Hum A Few Bars (And Fake It) …

All I hear are melismatic, melancholy melodies.
I have composed them on my own.
I long to hear again, out passion-filled polyphony,
But now my longing voice, indeed, is all alone.
I’d pleasure in the memories of harmonies we vocalized
That tacet went upon each tender kiss,
And tacet stayed when you left and are missed.

I hum a few bars and fake it
Because I cannot live on, on my own.
I must remember the chords within my heart your passion struck
Before you left me emotionally naked.
I’ve but to hum a few bars and fake it.

The note on which we parted ways
Was consonantly like the gaze
We held toward each others’ raise
Of hopes, suspended, a fleeting phase.

Nevermore for we
As yore fares, silently.

from the song This Song (Is Not About Julie) …

When I look upon you,
I don’t know why I do.
I sense a glint in your eye
That makes me think my life is a lie.
(You’re supposed to be with me.)
The truth beheld in your touch,
Honesty serving a crutch,
A desperate aim for support,
You know you’re my first and final resort.

When he’s in your eyes, he finds he mustn’t over-stay.
He roams where the heart is, ’cause home’s so far away.

You hold me in your hands and you’re hot,
A cold shoulder that I forgot.
You spoke with a nod and a glance
That made me think I had enough of a chance.
(You’re supposed to be with me.)
A flirt is a dangerous thing.
The lacks of intention sting.
You point and show me the door,
But it’s your distance that makes me want you more.
Can you say you’ve never loved me before?

from the song Voice …

She’s opened my eyes and my heart with her voice
Like nothing I’ve heard before.
She’s left me with a difficult choice.
It’s difficult not to ignore
The seductive way she is.
Oh, what I wouldn’t give!
I’m becoming aware
Of how much I care.

Her voice I have heard and
I’ll listen forever.
Embrace in her scent,
My aching endeavor.
The pain, it is good,
And, within, never dull.
Refrain from a kiss?
Quite impossible.

from the song Oh Reilly (Memories of Vegas) …

It’s 6:00am, and I’m sitting at a slot machine,
And you’re the only jackpot on my mind.
For all I know, you’re asleep and have forgotten me,
Or you’re waiting up in case I might find Room 5026.

Oh Reilly, you really reached into my heart.
It fell so many times that night,
I’d fall again, from any height.
Oh Reilly, I know I shouldn’t … hesitate.
Was it luck, or merely fate?
But now you’re gone.

from the song Yes, Officer, That’s My Girlfriend …

I took her out last night.  We drove, and talked ’til late.
I decided I would call her again.  Tonight, another date.
So today I picked her up.  We went driving kind of fast.
She made me an offer I couldn’t refuse … and I think that’s why we crashed.

Yes, officer, that’s my girlfriend.
I cannot say just what happened.

The accident resulted, but it wasn’t all my fault.
I looked down for a moment.  The road came to a halt.

Yes, officer, that’s my girlfriend strewn out on the lawn.
I’m not sure just what happened.  I came and now she’s gone.
